Description

Barb is a white latine woman who was 22 at the time of recording. She talks about growing up in a latine household with a twin who is her best friend. She covers the struggles of attending a school in a rich suburb and not relating to many of the students. Barb covers not wanting to be gay in Catholic household because of the strength of Brazilian culture in Barb's house. She talks about the importance of queer signaling, masc fashion, and queer movies which affirm her Lesbianism. Barb covers how class, race, and ethnicity inform her interactions with the New York City lesbian scene. She ends with a discussion about where she meets lesbians, what Lesbianism means to her, and what Lesbian spaces she wish existed.
