Monique is a nonbinary Black person who was 21 at the time of recording. They talk about being born in New Jersey but moving to central Georgia at eight years old. Monique talks about struggling in middle and high school as a neurodivergent, weird, gifted kid without accommodations or having their access needs met. They also discuss growing up in a Christian household, being an alternative Black girl, and existing on Tumblr as a young teen learning about queerness and romanticized mental illness simultaneously. Monique covers coming out, the power of identifying as a Lesbian, and how their Lesbianism has been influenced by queer theories. Monique talks candidly about being a Black lesbian and being nonbinary. They end with a discussion on where they meet other Lesbians, what Lesbianism means to them, and when they are happiest as a Lesbian.
