Ananda's poetry journal from high school in 2016. When Olivia asked Ananda on March 20th, 2023 during the item drop-off about why they wrote poetry in high school, Ananda said, "I felt like for the longest time that poetry was like experimenting with writing and finding myself outside of form. I felt like there was a lot more freedom and that I could be bolder in poetry than in nonfiction or fiction. I felt like I could write poetry about anything! It was a very freeing practice for me. I wouldn't bring books to class but I would bring a free read book, poetry, and write my own poetry."
