Nia is a gender nonconforming Black person who was 21 at the time of recording. They discuss growing up in New Jersey raised by a single Jamaican mother. Nia covers what attending a vocational high school was like with its cliques. Also, how she used social media as an escape to offset the isolation she felt. Nia covers struggling with existing in white spaces as a Black person, being in white Lesbian spaces, and interracial relationships. They discuss the pervasiveness of desirability politics within the Lesbian community. Nia talks about aligning with lesbian as a gender but recognizing the different qualities of being a Black lesbian and how that relates to Black womanhood as well. Nia talks about being in her "hot girl dyke moment" in New York City with a large Lesbian scene, going to Lesbian bars, and attending Lesbian parties. Nia talks about what identifying as a Lesbian means to them, what Lesbian community means to them, and what Lesbian spaces they wish existed.
