ZoAnne is a nonbinary Black person who was 22 at the time of recording. She talks about growing up in Brooklyn within an immigrant, Jamaican household. ZoAnne discusses middle and high school as a good student with familial and cultural pressure to succeed for the whole family. She talks about growing up around Black people all her life, being class disadvantaged, but it not feeling significant because everyone around her was living the same life. They cover how traditional caribbean gender roles affected them in relation to their brother who had more freedom. ZoAnne speaks candidly about coming into her lesbianism in 2020, the struggles of being recognized as Queer as a femme, and fatphobia. She ends with the desire to join more Lesbian spaces with her partner and what Lesbianism means to her.
