The following description is from Sasha themselves. "This was recorded a little over a week after I came out as nonbinary in the Summer of 2021. I was struggling to figure out what labels resonated with me and what didn’t, and was scared that because I was nonbinary and did not identify as a woman, that I was no longer a Black woman. despite being nonbinary, Black womanhood is something near and dear to my heart. after realizing that gender is all about taking what resonates and leaving what doesn’t — I now proudly identify as a nonbinary Black femme and a Black woman."
